I gave a presentation on Francis O’Neill at the recent online meeting of the Traditional Song Forum. TSF was founded in the U.K. in 1997 as a community of people interested in traditional song, its research, collection and performance. The group has expanded to include all traditions with members all around the world. TSF came to my attention when I was researching traditional songs of Nova Scotia for my other novel, Poor Farm. The topic we discussed was the life of Francis O’Neill. I thoroughly enjoyed speaking with TSF and hope you enjoy listening to the presentation!
