Treoir is the official magazine of Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Eireann. CCE is a wonderful organization and I was delighted when they agreed to publish an article of mine in their recent issue. I gave the piece the provocative title of O’Neill’s 100,001: A New Version of O’Neill’s Dance Music of Ireland. The article considers the impact of technology on traditional music and the conflicting views Francis O’Neill might have held on the topic.
